This famous devotional hymn expresses the deep joy of a devotee who has obtained the priceless spiritual treasure of devotion to Lord Rama. The singer proclaims with gratitude that through the grace of the true Guru (Satguru), an invaluable treasure—the divine name and love of Rama—has been received. Unlike worldly wealth that can be lost, stolen, or exhausted, this spiritual treasure only increases day by day and can never be diminished. The hymn teaches that the true Guru guides the devotee like a skilled boatman who helps them cross the vast ocean of worldly existence (bhava sagara). In the final verse, the poet-saint Mirabai joyfully sings the glory of her beloved Lord, Giridhara (Krishna), celebrating the bliss and fulfillment that come from divine devotion. The hymn emphasizes gratitude to the Guru, the imperishable nature of spiritual wealth, and the joy of loving remembrance of God.
