This hymn is a loving praise of Lord Krishna, describing his divine play in the sacred land of Vrindavana. The devotee remembers Krishna as the one who joyfully wanders along the banks of the holy Yamuna River and moves freely through the forests and groves of Vrindavana. He is praised as Govardhanoddhari—the one who lifted Mount Govardhana to protect the people of Vraja from the storm sent by Indra. He is also called Gopala, the tender protector of cows and the beloved of the cowherd community, and Murari, the destroyer of the demon Mura. Through these names, the hymn celebrates Krishna’s beauty, compassion, courage, and divine playfulness. Chanting this hymn fills the heart with devotion and remembrance of Krishna’s loving presence and his protective grace toward all devotees.
