This hymn is a sacred salutation to the Divine Mother who dwells within all beings in countless forms. It recognizes the Goddess as the inner power present in every living creature, especially as intelligence and awareness (buddhi). The repeated phrase 'Namas tasyai, namas tasyai, namas tasyai, namo namah' expresses deep reverence and repeated prostration to the Divine Mother who permeates the entire universe.

The hymn continues by acknowledging that the same Divine Mother manifests in many aspects of human and cosmic life. She appears as sleep (Nidra), hunger (Kshudha), shadow or protection (Chaya), divine power (Shakti), desire or thirst (Trishna), patience and forgiveness (Kshanti), identity and existence (Jati), modesty (Lajja), and peace (Shanti). She is also present as faith (Shraddha), beauty and radiance (Kanti), prosperity (Lakshmi), livelihood and activity (Vritti), memory (Smriti), compassion (Daya), contentment (Tushti), and the nurturing instinct of motherhood (Matri).

Through this hymn, devotees acknowledge that every function of life and every quality of the mind and heart is an expression of the Divine Mother’s presence. Chanting this prayer cultivates awareness that the Goddess lives within all beings and all experiences. It inspires humility, gratitude, and devotion toward the universal Mother who sustains, nourishes, and guides the entire creation.
