This hymn is a devotional song praising Lord Ganesha, the beloved elephant-headed deity who is revered as the leader of the divine hosts (Ganaraja) and the remover of obstacles. The hymn invites devotees to sing the glory of Gajanana, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. He is described as having a trunk beautifully adorned with sacred vermilion (sindura) and holding a sweet modaka in his hand, symbolizing joy, sweetness, and the rewards of spiritual effort.

The hymn praises Ganesha as Vighna Vinayaka, the remover of obstacles, and as the one who illuminates the intellect and grants wisdom. Devotees are encouraged to meditate upon him as the bestower of boons and blessings. By invoking him first, spiritual and worldly endeavors can proceed smoothly.

In the final verse, the hymn refers to Ganesha as the son of the embodiment of bliss (Anandatmaja), who is lovingly remembered and served by devotees. Through his grace, the devotee prays to cross the vast ocean of worldly existence (bhava-sindhu). Chanting this hymn expresses devotion, gratitude, and faith that Lord Ganesha guides devotees through life's challenges and leads them toward spiritual fulfillment and liberation.
